Bubble Trouble

Did you hear about the 100,000 Los Angeles ballots that won't be counted because thousands of voters failed to fill in an extra bubble?

Non-partisan voters were allowed to vote in the Democratic primary, but they had to request the Democratic ballot, fill in "Bubble #6" and then chose their preferred candidate. Lots of voters were unaware about the extra bubble they had to fill out, and as a result their votes will not count. Even some of the poll workers who received training about the voting process were not aware of this extra bubble.

People who made this mistake at the polls are obviously upset, and some such as Steve Katinsky express feeling furious and disenfranchised.

Disenfranchised: Deprived of the right to vote.
